Sabine Uhl

Sabine Uhl (born March 25, 1945 in Bremen ) is a Bremen politician. She was a senator in Bremen .

biography

Sabine Uhl, née Winkler, comes from a pastor family. She grew up with two brothers and a sister in Bremen-Osterholz and attended grammar school until she graduated from high school in 1964. From 1970 to 1973 she studied at the Bremen University for Social Pedagogy and Social Economics (today University of Bremen ). After the professional qualification year, she ran a day-care center from 1974 to 1975.

Uhl is a member of the SPD . In 1975 she was chairwoman of the local SPD association in Blumenthal . For the years from 1975 to 1990 she was elected to the Bremen citizenship . In 1979 she became a member of the SPD parliamentary group executive and in 1987 deputy parliamentary group leader. On February 6, 1990, she was appointed Senator for Youth and Social Affairs to the Senate under the leadership of Klaus Wedemeier , after Senator Henning Scherf took over the education department. From 1991 to 1995 she was Senator for Labor and Women and from 1991 to 1992 also for Health, Youth and Social Affairs (successor Irmgard Gaertner ).

After the end of the “ traffic light coalition ”, she left the Senate in 1995 and became a member of the citizenship again. Christine Wischer (SPD) took over the social department and Uwe Beckmeyer (SPD) took over the labor department .

She is married to Pastor em. Ernst Uhl and mother of two adult sons and a daughter.
