Konrad Kunick

Konrad Kunick (born May 15, 1940 in Leipzig ; † January 8, 2021 ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

education and profession

After attending secondary school, Kunick completed a commercial apprenticeship and worked in this area.

politics

Kunick had been a member of the SPD since 1963. He was active in various party offices in Huchting and the city of Bremen and from 1978 to 1986 he was state chairman of the SPD Bremen .

From 1971 to 1987 and from 1991 to 1994 he was a member of the Bremen Parliament . From 1985 to 1987 he was parliamentary group leader of his party. From 1987 to 1991 he was Senator for Ports, Shipping and Transport in the Senate Wedemeier II as the successor to Senator Oswald Brinkmann (SPD). He was also Senator for Labor until February 7, 1989. From February 8, 1989, he was also Senator for Construction as the successor to Eva-Maria Lemke (SPD), who remained Senator for Environmental Protection and Urban Development after the reorganization of responsibilities.

From 1994 to 2002 (13th and 14th electoral terms) he was a directly elected member of the Bremen-West constituency in the German Bundestag .

Kunick died on January 8, 2021 at the age of 80.
