Oswald Brinkmann

Oswald Brinkmann (born March 17, 1930 in Barnstorf ; † August 24, 2017 in Bremen ) was a German politician ( SPD ) and port senator in Bremen.

biography

education and profession

After attending elementary school, Brinkmann completed an apprenticeship as a technical draftsman and machine fitter. From 1951 he worked as a crane operator at Bremer Lagerhaus-Gesellschaft AG (BLG) and later became chairman of the works council.

Brinkmann was married and he had a son.

politics

Brinkmann joined the SPD, was elected to Bremen's citizenship in 1963 and was a member of the deputation for ports, shipping and transport from 1963 to 1971 . From December 15, 1971 to October 15, 1987, he served as Senator for Ports, Shipping and Transport for the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen . He was the successor to Senator Georg Borttscheller (FDP), he was followed by Senator Konrad Kunick (SPD) in office. From 1987 to 1991 he was again a member of the Bremen citizenship.

In Bremen- Arbergen he founded around 1957 Municipal Political Association Arbergen .
