Wilhelm Blase (born December 11, 1909 in Bremen , † September 7, 1994 in Bremen) was a German politician ( SPD ) and senator in Bremen .

Life

Family and work

Blase was the son of the citizenship member of the same name Wilhelm Blase (SPD). From 1954 to 1963 he was - most recently as Senate Director - head of the Senate Commission for Human Resources (SKP) in Bremen (today Performa Nord ).

In 1963 he was appointed Senator for Construction to the Senate in the 7th Cabinet of Wilhelm Kaisen (SPD) as the successor to Senator Alfred Balcke (SPD). During his time the expansion of the Blockland Autobahn , the construction of the elevated road in front of the main train station , the expansion of the infrastructure in Bremen with schools, kindergartens, social institutions and new districts. Building land scandal

The rapid growth in residential construction also led to speculative property trading. In Hollerland in Horn-Lehe, on the basis of information from the SPD parliamentary group leader Richard Boljahn, not only the Bremen property company Weser, but also the housing company Neue Heimat (Boljahn was on the supervisory board) and the real estate agent Willi Lohmann speculatively bought huge areas, which later became part of the building department should be added to a development. On June 24, 1969, the Weser-Kurier published an article by the editor Ulrich Manz that triggered the building land scandal. Building Senator Blase therefore resigned on July 31, 1969 and Boljahn also lost his position as leader of the SPD parliamentary group. Only 25 years later was a smaller part of the Hollerland actually built on.

In 1967 he was elected to the Bremen citizenship , but his citizenship mandate was suspended as a senator. After his resignation, he was therefore a member of the citizenship from 1969 to 1971.
