Anne Rose Katz (born August 9, 1923 in Schönebeck (Elbe) , † December 31, 2011 ) was a German journalist , writer and screenwriter .

Life

Anne Rose Katz studied theater studies , art history and German . Since 1957, as the first in Germany, she wrote television reviews for the Süddeutsche Zeitung and became a distinguished critic in this field. She wrote plays as well as opera texts and produced dance theater.

In 1960 she published her book Who once sat in front of the screen . In 1963 she published the book Fourteen Conjectures about Television - Contributions to a Current Topic . In 1989 Katz published the satire Der deutsche Mann , followed in 1991 with Lachend ich fllieg von der a collection of erotic poems and in 1995 the autobiography Die Freiheit der Late Jahre . In 1997 her book Palaver! Praise to free speech .

Katz wrote scripts for several television productions, including the episode The Postal Order from the television series Das Kriminalmuseum (together with Fritz Böttger) and the television films Dr. Margarete Johnsohn and the story of the good old man and the beautiful girl . She was also seen as an actress in supporting roles in the television film Fette Welt and the episode Treason from the television series Tatort .

In 1995 she presented the talk show frank and free on Bavarian television .

Katz was awarded the Ernst Hoferichter Prize in 1992 .

Katz was married to the actor Sigfrit Steiner for 23 years until his death in 1988 .

It was not until January 2013 that it became known that Katz had died on December 31, 2011.

Her grave is in the cemetery in Volkach am Main
