Christine Schöpf (* in Linz ) is an Austrian radio and television journalist .

Training and professional activity

She studied German and Romance languages ( French ) at the University of Vienna and dedicated her dissertation to Johann Nepomuk Nestroy as a literary critic .

Since 1977 she has been working as a freelance ORF employee for the weekly radio culture magazine Das Fenster with a focus on literature and from 1978 as an editor at the ORF regional studio Upper Austria for Current Service and from 1981 to 2007 as the head of the culture and science department with a focus on the Ars Electronica and conception of various radio and TV programs. In addition, she held lectures and jury work at home and abroad and participated in various radio and television documentaries.

From 1987 to 2004 she was responsible for the conception and implementation of the Prix Ars Electronica. Since 1995 she has been co- editor of the Cyberarts book series and the Edition Prix Ars Electronica at Springer-Verlag . and since 1996 she has been responsible for the artistic direction of Ars Electronica together with Gerfried Stocker .
