WDR studio in Düsseldorf
The WDR Studio Düsseldorf , which opened on May 2, 1991, is the largest of the eleven regional studios of West German Broadcasting in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia . The studio takes on the task of reporting from Düsseldorf and the region for the state broadcaster . It is located in the government district in the vicinity of the Rhine Tower , the Landtag and the State Chancellery of North Rhine-Westphalia with the Prime Minister's office .
Regional jurisdiction
WDR Studio Düsseldorf is responsible for reporting from the cities and municipalities of the Middle Lower Rhine and Niederbergisches Land regions with the cities of Krefeld , Mönchengladbach , Viersen , Neuss , Düsseldorf , Langenfeld and Mettmann . In addition to the studio in Düsseldorf, WDR operated a regional office in Kleve until 2007 . From 2007 onwards it was broadcast via a new WDR studio in Duisburg. Reports on the Lower Rhine as well as the Kleve and Wesel districts until 2007 are compiled from the studio there, and are broadcast via the studio in Düsseldorf. The Kleve office is still run as a radio office to this day. The office manager is Ludger Kazmierczak (as of March 2020) .

The regional political magazine Westpol and the local time with the regional program from Düsseldorf are currently being produced for WDR television . The WDR news programs were produced in Düsseldorf until 2019. Petra Albrecht, Jens Krepela and Laura Rohrbeck are among the current moderators of the local "window program" Lokalzeit Düsseldorf . At home and on the road and the program Live after nine , which is broadcast on the station Das Erste, were also produced in the studio.
The program Westblick with the focus on state politics is recorded for WDR radio .
The studio takes part in the program exchange of the ARD and creates articles for the ARD Tagesschau .
In 2013, the production technology of the television studio was modernized.
From mid-2020, the ZDF broadcast Volle Kanne will also be produced in the studio. The Volle Kanne editorial team is also moving into the WDR studio.

The portal of the building was designed based on the Volksempfänger from the early days of the radio. The architect is Christoph Parade.
