Live after nine is a service magazine that has been produced by WDR in its broadcasting center in Cologne since May 14, 2018 and broadcast live on Das Erste on weekdays from 9:05 a.m. to 9:55 a.m.
The show is alternately presented by the presenters Isabel Varell , Tim Schreder , Alina Stiegler , Marco Lombardo , Anne Willmes and Peter Großmann . In press releases, the age difference between the moderators is particularly emphasized. Since the end of November 2019, the program has been broadcast from there after WDR Aktuell moved to Cologne .

Current moderators
At the beginning of the broadcast, permanent teams of moderators were established (Varell-Schreder, Lechtermann-Weide and Stiegler-Schafmeister). These changed the moderation company on a weekly basis. Almost all moderator teams have been mixed together since 2019.

Reviews
The program was criticized in advance by ZDF and SWR because it goes against the planned dismantling of double structures. Parallel to Live after nine , the similar program Volle Kanne is running on ZDF . The SWR feared overlaps with the ARD buffet , which will be broadcast at 12:15 on the first.
Manuel Weis from Oddsmeter.de sees u. a. because of the use of mobile shoulder cameras and the moving imagery, parallels to Sat.1 breakfast television .
Authors of the media correspondence were extremely dissatisfied with the show in 2018. The journalist Senta Krasser, for example, said that "far too often, people just go on chatting away without meaning or understanding". Dieter Schlag judged the series as "currently probably the worst broadcast on German public television".
