Silke Hansen

Silke Hansen (born September 3, 1968 in Giessen ) is a German television presenter .

Life

Silke Hansen worked as a sports reporter for the Wiesbadener Tagblatt during her school days . She studied geography and meteorology. With her studies she moved to the Frankfurter Rundschau as a freelancer , later to the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung , wrote for various magazines and agencies and came to television as an editor through stations in private radio. At the end of the 1980s she became "Wetterwoman" at the radio station SWF3 (today SWR 3) and was able to combine her interest in the weather with journalism for the first time. After completing her studies, she presented the weather on SWR television on behalf of a private production company.

In 1996 he switched to the weather department of the Hessischer Rundfunk . Here she presents the weather for the ARD television that ARD Mittagsmagazin , the ARD Buffet and Live after nine . She designed new broadcast formats (e.g. "alle wetter!") And supported the ARD team at several local Olympic Games as a weather expert.

Hansen has been the head of the weather department at Hessischer Rundfunk since 2000 and is therefore also responsible for the ARD weather reports, which have been produced by HR since 1960. Silke Hansen has been heading the ARD Weather Competence Center since January 1, 2020.

Silke Hansen is a founding member of "climate without borders".
