Thomas Ranft (born August 14, 1966 in Recklinghausen , North Rhine-Westphalia ) is a German television presenter .

Life

After ten years of moderating private radio at local stations in southern Germany, he switched to Hessischer Rundfunk in 1997 , where he has since appeared as a moderator and editor of the weather department for numerous programs on Erste, Eins Extra, Südwestfernsehen and hr-fernsehen . Since January 2001 he has hosted the weekly 15-minute program “alle wetter!” In the evening program of the hr television, for which he was awarded the 2008 Meteorology Media Prize for the best weather program on German-speaking TV. Since 2006 he has moderated the weekly knowledge magazine Alles Wissen on hr-fernsehen. He has also been working as a weatherman for teams and organizers of touring car races since 2006. In the 2009 DTM season, he joined the ARD team as a weatherman and reporter for technical knowledge. In addition to his TV work, he is present at events, e.g. B. for the Hessischer Rundfunk at the Hessentag .

Today Thomas Ranft lives in Wetterau in Hessen .
