Hans-Jürgen Haug (born December 25, 1946 in Gerstetten , Baden-Württemberg , † December 12, 2010 in Zotzenheim , Rhineland-Palatinate ) was a German journalist , author and documentary filmmaker.

Life

After studying social sciences in Göttingen and Cologne and after doing journalistic and political activities in the 1968 movement , Haug turned to journalism professionally.

In 1967 he was part of the founding crew of the radio-pop show Panoptikum des Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR). He worked as a journalist with Henryk M. Broder in Cologne.

Together with Hubert Maessen , Haug published books in quick succession about the school and apprenticeship movement and conscientious objection, essays and features on school reform and citizens' initiatives. Haug / Maessen were among the bestselling authors of the renowned Fischer-Verlag (Frankfurt am Main), their books each had several editions and in 1972 had a total of a quarter of a million copies.

Hans-Jürgen Haug was the author of numerous radio features, many of which were written and produced together with Hubert Maessen. Since 1971 he worked for television, initially for the ZDF youth magazine Direkt . Together with his then wife Gisela Gassner, he founded his own film production facility "Baione-Film" in the 1970s. Many films were produced for the Second German Television ( ZDF ), especially for the magazine Länderspiegel with the series Länderspiegel on the move and for the ZDF report . Hans-Jürgen Haug and Gisela Gassner also processed their research in their 1986 book Im Innern des Landes - Reportages from the Province .
