Herbert Quandt Media Prize

The Herbert Quandt Media Prize (also: Herbert Quandt Media Prize ) has been awarded annually by the Johanna Quandt Foundation since 1986 to journalists and publicists from all media who deal in a demanding and generally understandable way with the work and importance of entrepreneurs and companies in deal with the market economy . It is endowed with a total of 50,000 euros. The award commemorates the German entrepreneur Herbert Quandt . Because he and his father Günther Quandt employed concentration camp prisoners under inhumane conditions during the Nazi era and even personally planned a satellite camp, the award, which continues to be named after him, has been criticized since the appearance of the documentary The Silence of the Quandts .
