Stephan Lamby (born September 4, 1959 in Bonn ) is a German journalist , author and producer .

Life

Lamby studied German and English in Marburg and Hamburg . He worked as a freelance journalist in New York City and as deputy editor-in-chief at Radio 107 in Hamburg. From 1992 Lamby was deputy editor-in-chief and presenter for the ZEIT television magazine . In 1997 he founded ECO Media TV-Produktion, which mainly produces documentaries on politics, business, history, culture and science.

In addition to his work as a producer, Stephan Lamby also writes television documentaries on political and economic issues. He is best known for portraits of politicians, for example of Helmut Kohl , Angela Merkel , Wolfgang Schäuble , Fidel Castro and Henry Kissinger . He has also made films about current crises at home and abroad as well as the jazz film "Brothers Kühn - Two Musicians Play Each Other Free" about the jazz musicians Joachim Kühn and Rolf Kühn .

Stephan Lamby's father, Werner Lamby , was one of the top civil servants in the Bonn Republic in the 1960s / 1970s before he became manager of the then federally owned VIAG .
