Thomas Tuma

Thomas Tuma (born September 25, 1964 in Bad Mergentheim ) is a German journalist and author.

Life

Tuma was after an internship at a local newspaper at the German School of Journalism and studied in Munich and Washington, DC journalism . He worked for the Münchner Abendzeitung and Tango .

After working for the weekly magazine Stern , Tuma switched to the news magazine Der Spiegel in 1996 . There he worked as a business and media editor. In 2001, Tuma's detective novel “Tödlicher Chat” was published, some of which had already been published on the Internet and discussed there before being published as a book.

From 2002 Tuma has been head of the business and media departments at Spiegel, where he also works as a columnist. Since 2010 he has also been a member of the jury for the Axel Springer Prize . Together with Martin U. Müller Tuma received the 3rd prize at the Helmut Schmidt Journalist Award 2011 for the Spiegel article “ World Religion Shoppen” For the four-part article series “Germany, your rich”, he and colleagues won the 2012 “Friedrich Vogel -Prize for Business Journalism “.

Since November 1, 2013, he has been the deputy editor-in-chief of the Handelsblatt in Düsseldorf. In addition to his work in the editor-in-chief, he is developing a supplement for the Wirtschaftsblatt that deals with fashion and lifestyle topics.
