Dieter Gruschke

Dieter Gruschke (born December 4, 1939 in Düsseldorf ; † August 27, 2019 in Saarlouis ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Gruschke grew up in Saarlouis and graduated from the humanistic grammar school there. He then studied law at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and the Saarland University . He passed the first state examination in 1963 in Saarbrücken, the second after his legal preparatory service (in Berlin and Saarland) in 1966. He then worked as a judge in several courts until he was finally appointed public prosecutor at the Saarbrücken public prosecutor's office in 1970. From 1976 he was a judge at the Saarlouis District Court .

Gruschke has been a member of the SPD since 1965. He held various positions in the Jusos and in the party, including chairman of the Saarlouis SPD city association (1983-1999). From 1985 to 1995 Gruschke was a member of the Saarland state parliament . There he acted as legal policy spokesman and from 1990 as parliamentary manager of the SPD parliamentary group, he was also deputy parliamentary group chairman. In the spring of 1995 he resigned his state parliament mandate after his appointment as State Secretary for Justice . He held the office in Arno Walter's ministry until the change of government in 1999.
