The Saarlouis District Court is a German court of ordinary jurisdiction and one of ten district courts in the district of the Saarbrücken Regional Court .

The court has its seat in the city of Saarlouis in Saarland .

The judicial district comprises the area of ​​the cities of Saarlouis and Dillingen as well as that of the communities of Bous , Ensdorf , Rehlingen-Siersburg , Schwalbach , Überherrn , Wadgassen and Wallerfangen . This makes the district about 272  km 2 in size. Around 139,000 people live in it (as of September 30, 2017).

Courthouse

The district court building was built on the site of the former Ravelin II at Prälat-Subtil-Ring 10 .

The inauguration took place in 1907. The facade of the building is designed in the neo-Gothic style. The dish is dipped in a very light brown. The dark brown stones that give the door and windows contours make a rack. The roof of the building is a sea blue.

The central axis, which splits the building into two symmetrical halves, divides the entrance front. The entrance area is highlighted from the rest of the part. The connecting structure of the two side wings serves as the main facade. After entering the court, the wide stairways are noticeable. This is followed by large, wood-clad hallways. They serve as waiting rooms. The departments, which serve various purposes, are accessible from the corridors. The court has a total of 24 departments, such as the administrative department, the guardianship court and the probate court.

The Saarlouis Labor Court was located in the courthouse until it was lifted .

Superior courts

The Saarbrücken Regional Court is superordinate to the Saarlouis District Court. The competent higher regional court is the Saarland Higher Regional Court , also based in Saarbrücken.
