Merzig District Court
The Merzig District Court is a German court of ordinary jurisdiction and one of ten district courts in the district of the Saarbrücken Regional Court .
Seat and District of the Court
The court has its seat in the city of Merzig in Saarland .
The judicial district includes the area of the cities of Merzig and Wadern and that of the communities Beckingen , Losheim am See , Mettlach , Perl and Weiskirchen and thus the entire district of Merzig-Wadern . The district is about 557 km 2 in size. Around 104,000 people live in it (as of September 30, 2017).
Courthouse
The main building is located at Wilhelmstrasse 2 in Merzig. A branch has been set up at Richtstrasse 7 in Wadern .
Superior courts
The Saarbrücken Regional Court is superordinate to the Merzig District Court. The competent higher regional court is the Saarland Higher Regional Court , also based in Saarbrücken.
