Hans Draxler (born February 3, 1892 in Gnigl ​​near Salzburg (now part of Salzburg ), † July 5, 1953 in Arbon ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). Draxler was in the years 1945-1949 both state councilor in the Vorarlberg state government and a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament and from 1949 to 1953 for the SPÖ member of the Austrian national council .

Hans Draxler was born on February 3, 1892 in the community of Gnigl ​​near Salzburg, today's district of the Salzburg state capital. After completing elementary and community school, he attended evening courses at the state trade school in Salzburg to learn the carpenter 's trade. In 1908, following his professional training, he went on a journey and then joined the ÖBB .

Since 1918 Draxler was politically active in the Social Democratic Party, which is why he was taken into protective custody by the Austrofascist government in 1934 . In 1945, after the regional elections in Vorarlberg in 1945, Hans Draxler became a member of the Vorarlberg regional government as a regional councilor without a portfolio. At the same time, he was elected member of the state parliament in the state elections. Also in 1945 Draxler became city councilor in the Vorarlberg state capital Bregenz , his new place of residence. After an electoral term in the state government and in the state parliament, Draxler finally entered the National Council on November 8, 1949 for the Social Democrats, where he remained a member until July 5, 1953. He subsequently became chairman of the ÖGB regional office in Vorarlberg and a representative of the railway workers in Vorarlberg.
