Ulrich Schäfer (business journalist)

Ulrich Schäfer (born June 16, 1967 in Telgte ) is a German business journalist .

Life

Shepherd studied at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster economics and in Washington, DC journalism . After training at the Henri Nannen School , he worked for the news magazine Der Spiegel, first in the business department and later in the parliamentary office. In 1997 Ulrich Schäfer received the Herbert Quandt Media Prize for his article Die neue Gründerzeit . Two years later he was awarded the Ludwig Erhard Prize for Economic Journalism. In 2003, Schäfer received a position at the Süddeutsche Zeitung as deputy head of the parliamentary office and senior business editor. From 2007 to 2010 he headed the SZ business editorial department together with Marc Beise . Then he was head of the regional editions of the Süddeutsche Zeitung for three years. Since May 2013 he has been heading the business editorial team again with Beise.
