Marc Beise

Marc Beise (born April 27, 1959 in Mainz ) is a German journalist , author and presenter .

Life

Beise grew up in Neu-Isenburg and Heusenstamm . He studied law and economics in Frankfurt am Main , Lausanne and at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen . From 1985 to 1989 he was an editor at Offenbach-Post , where he ended up being Head of Politics, Economy and the Economic System. In 1989 he became a member of the DFG research group "European and International Economic Order". With the dissertation The World Trade Organization (WTO). Function, status, organization , Beise became Dr. jur. PhD . Then he went to the Handelsblatt , where he became editor-in-chief for economic policy. In 1999 he became the deputy head of the business department of the Süddeutsche Zeitung . Since 2007 he has headed the business editorial department together with Ulrich Schäfer . He is also the host of the Forum Manager talk show at Phoenix and the author of several books. In 2017 he was awarded the Ludwig Erhard Prize for Business Journalism from the Ludwig Erhard Foundation .
