Moritz Riesewieck

Moritz Riesewieck (* 1985 in Herdecke ) is a German theater and film director , as well as a screenplay and non-fiction writer , and a founding member of the artist group Compagnie Laokoon.
Live and act
Riesewieck gained his first theater experience as an assistant director at the Volksbühne Berlin , at the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz and at the Hamburg Thalia Theater . With a scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation, he began to study economics and then directing at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin. The projects he realized during his studies, e. B. SiebenSchläfer - EinSchlafTerrorCamp and ParK were shown at festivals at the Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, the Theater Hebbel am Ufer Berlin and at Kaltstart Hamburg. In 2012, together with Tina Ebert, he founded the Compagnie Laokoon group, an association of artists and natural scientists who create cross-media narrative formats. In 2014 Riesewieck received an invitation to Mexico City from the Goethe Institute to direct Georg Büchner's Woyzeck . In 2015 he was invited to the Heidelberger Stückemarkt competition for his diploma production Voiceck , and he finished his studies in the same year.
Together with the Laocoon member Hans Block , Riesewieck realized the full-length documentary The Cleaners - Im Schatten der Netzwelt . The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in early 2018 and was released in German cinemas in May 2018, while Riesewieck also published the book Digitale Drecksarbeit .
