Stefan Willeke

Stefan Willeke (born October 17, 1964 in Bochum ) is a German journalist .

Life

After graduating from high school, he studied history and politics at the Ruhr University in Bochum , graduated in 1992 with a Magister Artium and received his doctorate in economic history in 1994 . Since 1986 he has also worked as a freelancer for the Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung and other newspapers and magazines in the Ruhr area. In 1996 he started as an editor in the "Dossier" section of the weekly newspaper Die Zeit in Hamburg. In 2000 he became deputy dossier department head, from 2004 to 2008 he worked as a department-independent reporter for the Zeit editorial team. From 2009 to October 2012 he headed the “Dossier” department of the time. In November 2012 he switched to Spiegel in Hamburg, where he was initially a reporter for the corporate division and from March 2013 headed the corporate division together with Matthias Geyer . In April 2014 he switched back to the time as chief reporter. Since February 2017 he has been a member of the editorial team of Zeit.
