Jörg Eigendorf

Jörg Eigendorf (born December 26, 1967 in Ratingen ) is a German journalist . He has been Group Spokesman for Deutsche Bank since April 1, 2016 .

Career

After graduating from high school in 1987, Eigendorf graduated from the Cologne School of Journalism and then studied economics at the University of Cologne . Parallel to his studies (diploma in 1996), he worked as a business correspondent in Moscow since 1993, initially as a freelancer for Die Weltwoche, Spiegel and numerous regional newspapers , and from 1994 as a business correspondent for the CIS for Die Zeit . In 1999, Eigendorf moved to Frankfurt as a correspondent for the daily newspaper Die Welt . His areas of expertise were the euro and the global banking industry.

In 2003 he became head of the “ World ” group for business, finance and real estate. He was instrumental in the fusion of Welt and Welt am Sonntag. In 2010, Eigendorf joined the investigative team as chief reporter and became a member of the chief editor of the “Welt” group.

On October 18, 2015, Deutsche Bank announced that it had hired Eigendorf as its group spokesman. Since April 2016, he has been in charge of communication, branding, sustainability, social responsibility and event management.

Life

Jörg Eigendorf is married to the ZDF reporter Katrin Eigendorf . The couple has two children. Their daughter Alexandra became known as a pop singer under the name Aly Ryan . Their son Philip Julius was seriously ill from birth and died in 2011 at the age of 17. The couple then founded the Philip Julius Association for the promotion of severely disabled people and their families. The association is now supported by Aktion Mensch and other equal organizations.
