Diógenes Randes (born in São Paulo ) is a Brazilian opera singer ( bass ).

Life

Diogenes Randes studied at the State Conservatory of Music in São Paulo and continued his studies from 2000 at the Conservatory (CRD - "Conservatoire a Rayonnement Départemental") in Colmar , France . In 2001, at the age of 24, he was engaged at the Freiburg Opera . In 2004 he moved to the ensemble of the Essen Opera , and then to the Hamburg State Opera in 2008 . In 2007 he made his debut at the Bayreuth Festival . In 2008 he sang Titurel in the new Parsifal production by Stefan Herheim .

His repertoire includes the title roles in Figaro's Wedding and in Don Giovanni , Sarastro in the Magic Flute , Banco in Macbeth , Guglielmo in Così fan tutte , Ramfis in Aida , Daland in the Flying Dutchman , Hans Foltz in the Meistersinger and the Fafner in the Rheingold and in the Siegfried .
