Pascal Rakotomavo
Pascal Joseph Rakotomavo (born April 1, 1934 in Antananarivo , † December 14, 2010 in Réunion ) was a Malagasy politician .
biography
Rakotomavo first became finance minister in the cabinet of Prime Minister Désiré Rakotoarijaona in 1982 and also held this office under his successor Victor Ramahatra until 1989.
On February 21, 1997, President Didier Ratsiraka himself appointed him Prime Minister and thus the successor to Norbert Ratsirahonana . His cabinet, which he presented on February 27, 1997, included Herizo Razafimahaleo as foreign minister, Tantely Andrianarivo as economic and finance minister and Colonel Jean-Jacques Rasolondraibe as interior minister. Rakotomavo held the post of Prime Minister until he was succeeded by Tantely Andrianarivo on July 23, 1998.
On June 12, 2001, he became the first governor of Antananarivo Province and held this position until February 28, 2002.
