Charles Rabemananjara (born June 9, 1947 in Ampatsakana-Antananarivo ) was Prime Minister of Madagascar . He took office on January 20, 2007, beginning the second term of President Marc Ravalomanana . At the same time, Rabemananjara was Minister of Interior and Administrative Reform. During Ravalomanana's first term, which began in 2002, Rabemananjara had been a senior military officer since 2004. At the end of 2005 he became Minister of the Interior. He is a general in the army and his appointment as prime minister could be seen as a sign of the military's growing influence on the government since a failed coup attempt by ex-general Andrianafidisoa in 2006. Rabemananjara's term of office ended with the coup of Andry Rajoelinas , his successor as Prime Minister was Monja Roindefo .

He is married and has four kids.
