Helmut Schimanski

Helmut Schimanski (born March 25, 1940 in Kronshagen ) is a German journalist .

Life

Schimanski studied science, journalism, sociology and modern history. After completing his traineeship at a daily newspaper and NDR , he worked as a freelancer for ARD and ZDF .

From 1970 Schimanski worked as an editor at the ZDF turntable . He was the head of planning in the ZDF main editorial office "News". From 1979 he worked in the main editorial office for “domestic politics” as editor-in-chief and moderator for the programs Länderspiegel , Blickpunkt and the department “special programs / election programs ”.

On March 31, 2000, Helmut Schimanski retired.
