Barbara Bronnen
Barbara Bronnen (born August 19, 1938 in Berlin ; † August 10, 2019 in Munich ) was a German writer . She has published short stories, novels and non-fiction books.
Life
Barbara Bronnen was the daughter of the journalist Hildegard Bronnen-von Lossow and the writer Arnolt Bronnen . She spent her youth in Austria, studied German language and literature and philosophy in Munich from 1957 to 1962, where she earned her doctorate in 1962. phil. PhD. She then worked as a lecturer and journalist and in 1987 was a visiting professor in poetics at the University of Bamberg .
She was married to the author and director Manfred Grunert until 1980. She then married the film director Dieter Lemmel , with whom she has a son and from whom she has been separated since 1990. She was a member of the PEN Center Germany and the Austrian PEN Club .
She lived as a freelance writer in Munich until her death on August 10, 2019 . Her sister is the actress Franziska Bronnen .
