Foug is a French commune with 2,663 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Toul and the canton of Toul (until 2015: canton of Toul-Nord ). The inhabitants are called Faouins .

The municipality is located west of Toul on the Rhine-Marne Canal . The neighboring municipalities of Foug are Trondes in the north and northwest, Laneuveville-derrière-Foug in the north, Bruley in the northeast, Écrouves in the east, Choloy-Ménillot in the southeast, Rigny-la-Salle and Saint-Germain-sur-Meuse in the southwest and Pagny -sur-Meuse and Lay-Saint-Remy to the west.
The National Route 4 runs through the municipality .
