Écrouves is a French commune with 4,376 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). Écrouves belongs to the arrondissement of Toul and the canton of Toul (until 2015: canton of Toul-Nord ). The inhabitants are called Scrofuliens .
geography
The municipality of Écrouves consists of the core town and the villages of Grandménil , La Justice and Bautzen (named after the Battle of Bautzen in 1813 from the Napoleonic era).
Écrouves is partly in the Lorraine Regional Nature Park and about four kilometers west of Toul . Écrouves is surrounded by the neighboring communities Pagney-derrière-Barine in the north, Toul in the east, Domgermain and Choloy-Ménillot in the south, Foug in the west and Bruley in the north-west.
The Canal de la Marne au Rhin , the Paris – Strasbourg railway line and the former Route nationale 4 run through the town .
