Pannes is located about 35 kilometers south-southeast of Metz in the Lorraine Regional Nature Park on the banks of the Madine River . Pannes is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Nonsard-Lamarche in the north and west, Beney-en-Woëvre in the north and northeast, Bouillonville in the east and northeast, Euvezin in the east and southeast, Essey-et-Maizerais in the south and Lahayville and Richecourt in the southwest.
