Villey-Saint-Étienne is a French commune with 1,061 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Toul and the canton of Le Nord-Toulois (until 2015: canton of Domèvre-en-Haye ). The inhabitants are called Goniches .

Villey-Saint-Étienne is located about 15 kilometers west-northwest of Nancy on the Moselle , which borders the municipality in the east. The municipality is part of the Lorraine Regional Nature Park . Villey-Saint-Étienne is surrounded by the neighboring communities Jaillon in the north, Liverdun in the northeast, Aingeray in the east and northeast, Fontenoy-sur-Moselle in the east and southeast, Gondreville in the south, Toul in the southwest and Francheville in the west and northwest.
