David Rott (born September 1, 1977 in Leverkusen ) is a German actor .

Life

David Rott completed an acting training at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna and later became a permanent member of the ensemble at the Burgtheater Vienna, where he played in Christina Paulhofer's production of Frank Wedekind's Spring Awakening . The trade journal Theater heute nominated him as the best young actor of the year 2000/2001. In addition to guest engagements at the Bregenz Festival and the Wiener Festwochen, she worked at the Deutsches Theater in Berlin from 2001 to 2003 . At the Schauspielhaus Zürich he was seen in Christina Paulhofer's staging The Mercy Seat by Neil LaBute in 2003 . In the 2005/06 season he was a member of the ensemble at the Schauspielhaus Zürich. From 2008 to 2011 he could be seen at the Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel in Munich as Romeo in Romeo and Juliet .

In 2003 he played his first film role in Ganz und Absolut , for which he was awarded the Max Ophüls Prize for Best Young Actor. In 2009 he played the leading role of Hans Sattler in the three-part television film Die Rebellin . He played the leading role of the young Udo Jürgens in the two-part television series Der Mann mit dem Bassoon , which was awarded a “ Bambi ” in 2011 .

David Rott lives with his family near Frankfurt.
