The cabaret in the Hofgarten in Aschaffenburg was opened on September 6, 1998 by Urban Priol as a theater and restaurant in the Hofgarten . The Speakers Corner and Tetra Pack are also part of the Hofgarten cabaret . One of the series of events is Gsella lets read… , in which Thomas Gsella, former editor-in-chief of the satirical magazine Titanic , presents works by humorous authors. Concerts take place in Frank Keller's Acoustic Lounge . An Italian restaurant is attached.

The listed building, an orangery from the 18th century in the Schöntal city park , which has since been used as a cinema, was extensively renovated by Urban and Gabriella Priol with almost no public support and turned into a venue for cabaret and cabaret . Urban Priol directed the stage until October 2003. Then she was taken over by Axel Teuscher. The humor brigade Hofgarten GmbH has been the sponsor since 1998. In May 2004 the Hofgarten Cabaret was the venue for the award ceremony for the Salzburg bull . In 2010 the Bavarian Cabaret Prize, u. a. to Gerhard Polt, awarded in the Hofgarten.

Under the motto “10 years - 10 artists”, the gala for the tenth anniversary of the Hofgarten cabaret took place on September 6, 2008 in the Aschaffenburg town hall. Participants included Urban Priol, Ganz Schön Feist , Bülent Ceylan , Rolf Miller , Martina Schwarzmann , Tender with Friends , Piet Klocke , Frank-Markus Barwasser alias Erwin Pelzig , Volker Pispers and Georg Schramm . The Bavarian television recorded the event and broadcast it several times. The Hofgarten regularly serves as a gallery for the cartoonists Greser & Lenz .

Speakers Corner

The events of the young stage were recently moderated by the cabaret artist Clajo Herrmann . It was the stage for cabaret, comedy and musical offspring. The series has since been discontinued.

Tetra Pack

The "Tetra Pack" moderated by Johannes Scherer is aimed at artists who are not yet known through radio and television.
