NRW League 2008/09
^ Regionalliga West 2009/10

The 2009/10 season of the NRW League was the second season of the Football NRW League as the fifth highest division in Germany. The season began on August 7, 2009 and ended with the last game day on May 30, 2010. SV Schermbeck was initially refused the license for the 2009/10 season because the club had submitted the documents for the licensing process too late. By interim injunction at the Duisburg Regional Court , the club fought for the right to still be able to start in the NRW League. As in the previous season, 19 instead of 18 teams took part.

Champion was the promoted SC Wiedenbrück 2000 with four points ahead of the second team of Arminia Bielefeld . Both teams rose to the regional league .

Since both the Bonner SC and Rot-Weiss Essen did not receive a license for the Regionalliga West and therefore had to be relegated to the NRW-Liga, the number of relegated increased from three to five. Thus, in addition to Hammer SpVg , VfB Hüls , TSG Sprockhövel and SG Wattenscheid 09, the second team from Rot-Weiss Essen was relegated, since according to the statutes of the NRW-League only one team per club was allowed to compete in the league. Hüls appealed against the relegation, which was upheld on July 5, 2010.

The climbers were FC Wegberg-Beeck from the Middle Rhine League , VfB Homberg from the Lower Rhine League and Westfalia Rhynern and SpVgg Erkenschwick from the two seasons of the Westphalia League . The champions of the Westfalenliga Season II, SpVgg Erkenschwick, had only received the license for the NRW League at the second attempt. In the following season, the NRW League played for the first time with the standard number of 18 teams.

The top scorer was Dominik Jansen from champions SC Wiedenbrück 2000 with 25 goals.
