Kim Nadine Kulig-Soyah (born April 9, 1990 in Herrenberg , as Kim Nadine Kulig) is a former German soccer player and today's trainer.

Career

Kim Kulig started her football life at the age of eight with SV Poltringen , for whom she played in a boys' team. In 2001 she moved to SV Unterjesingen and in 2003 to VfL Sindelfingen . Since then she has been looked after by a national coach of the DFB. With the B-Juniors she became champions of the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg in 2005 and 2006 . Then she became a regular player in the first team. In her first second division season she scored 17 goals and finished fourth in the scorers list of the southern group.

For the 2008/09 season she moved to Hamburger SV , where she became a top performer over the next three years. For the 2011/12 season she went to 1. FFC Frankfurt , where she signed a contract that was valid until summer 2014. Kulig made her comeback after a cruciate ligament rupture at the 2011 World Cup in the Champions League semi-final against Arsenal on April 15, 2012 . After the game, however, it turned out that the mission had come too early because she had pain in her knee again and had to forego further missions for the rest of the season. From mid-2013 she underwent several operations due to persistent knee complaints and made her comeback in early 2015. In September 2015, however, she ended her career because of the sports disability caused by her knee injuries .

National team

With the U-17 national team , she was third in the Nordic Cup in 2006 and 2007 . She qualified with the U-19 national team for the European Championships in France and with the U-20 national team for the 2008 World Championships in Chile and 2010 in Germany . In the latter, she triggered an own goal by Ohale to win the 2-0 final with a header on the post in the 90th minute of the final against Nigeria. She was then awarded the bronze ball for the third best player in the tournament.

On February 25, 2009, she played her first A international match against China when she was substituted on in the second half. At the Algarve Cup at the beginning of March, she was used for the first time from the start against Finland, as well as when she met the Chinese again, where she also scored her first international goal with a long-range shot. In September Kulig won the European championship with the national team . She scored the 3-1 goal for the German team in the final against England.

Kulig was part of the team at the 2011 World Cup in Germany . In the quarter-final game against Japan, she tore a cruciate ligament in her right knee. 14 months after her injury, she was back in the national team on September 15, 2012 when she came on in the 66th minute of the game against Kazakhstan.

As a trainer

In October 2016, Kulig acquired the Trainer A license at the DFB coaching course. On October 28, 2017, the 1. FFC Frankfurt announced in a press release that Kim Kulig, together with Kerstin Garefrekes , will be co-trainer of the 2nd team (2nd Women's Bundesliga South). Kulig debuted in this capacity at the home race of 1. FFC II against Andernach on 29 October 2017. On 21 December 2017, the then-head coach Philippe Kabo resigned and Kulig took over as head coach in the 2nd Women's Bundesliga playing second team of the Frankfurt . In 2020, Kulig took part in the DFB Academy's football teacher training course.

Personal

Kulig grew up with three sisters and two brothers in Poltringen. She graduated from high school in Heidberg in early summer 2010 . She has been an ambassador for the Zervita project since 2012 . She has been studying interior design at the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences since October 2013 and used the time during her rehabilitation to advance her distance learning sports management course. On May 29, 2016, Kulig married the former soccer player Melanie Soyah .

At the women's soccer World Cup in Canada in 2015 , she only acted outside the field as an expert for ZDF due to her injury and exercised this commitment after her retirement in September 2015 until spring 2016 (March). From October 1, 2015 to December 2017, she worked full-time at the DFB headquarters . She worked there as a scout in the observation of opponents and was one of the closest employees in the staff of the national coach Steffi Jones .
