Lena Petermann (born February 5, 1994 in Cuxhaven ) is a German soccer player .

Career

societies

Petermann began her career at TSV Otterndorf , where she played in a team with boys until she was C-youth . This was followed by a few years in the Otterndorf / Altenwalde / Wanna (JSG OttAWA) youth game community before she moved to SV Ahlerstedt / Ottendorf in winter 2009 . In summer 2009 she moved to Hamburger SV in the women's Bundesliga . On September 20, 2009 (1st matchday) she made her Bundesliga debut in the 1: 4 defeat in the home game against FCR 2001 Duisburg . She scored her first Bundesliga goal on November 8, 2009 (8th matchday) in a 4-2 win in the away game against 1. FC Saarbrücken . The striker was under contract in Hamburg until the club left the Bundesliga in summer 2012. In August 2012, she then joined the UCF Knights , the college team at the University of Central Florida in Orlando . At the Knights she played together with her compatriots Karoline Heinze and Sophie Howard . In her first year in Florida, Petermann was named Rookie of the Year at the American Athletic Conference .

After initially planning to study in the USA until 2016, she returned to Germany early to continue her career there. On September 2, 2014 she signed the Bundesliga club SC Freiburg .

After 74 league and 13 cup games for SC, she joined Turbine Potsdam for the 2018/19 season . After only one year, in which she scored 7 goals in 10 games, she left Turbine Potsdam and moved to France for HSC Montpellier .

National team

With the U-17 national team, Petermann qualified for the European Championship 2010 and reached third place in the tournament. She also took part in the 2010 World Cup in Trinidad and Tobago in September , in which she was eliminated from the tournament after the 0-1 in the quarter-finals against the selection of North Korea. At the finals of the U-17 European Championship 2011 in Nyon / Switzerland, it was used both in the semi-final against France, which was lost 5-6 on penalties , and in the game for third place, which was won 8-2 against Iceland. After almost three years of interruption Petermann denied on March 1, 2014 another meeting for National Selection of the DFB , as formulated in the Six Nations Tournament in La Manga for 20 national U- debut, scoring once two hits. On October 13, 2014, Petermann was appointed to the squad of the German national team for the first time for the international test matches against the selections of France and Sweden , but was initially not used. On March 6, 2015, she made her senior national team debut as part of the 2015 Algarve Cup against China .

On May 24, 2015 she was appointed to the final squad for the 2015 World Cup in Canada by national coach Silvia Neid . There she scored her first international goals for the senior national team in the third group game , in a 4-0 win over the selection of Thailand , with the goals to 2-0 and 3-0 in the 56th and 58th minute.
