Laura Vetterlein (born April 7, 1992 in Rheinfelden ) is a German soccer player . The central defender has been under contract with Bundesliga club SC Sand since 2015 . She is the younger sister of Alisa Vetterlein .

Career

societies

Laura Vetterlein began her football career from an early age by playing with her older sister as a role model. At the age of five she became a member of the Rheinfeld district club SV Nollingen , played in the F youth , E, D, C and most recently the B youth in the boys' teams. Even when the club set up a girls 'team, with a special permit she continued to play with the boys' B-Juniors in the attacking midfield.

She turned down an offer from SC Freiburg , which plays with its girls' team in the Baden-Württemberg League, and instead switched to 1. FC Saarbrücken in 2008 , which had been relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga in the previous season and had lost several players. She was able to celebrate the direct return to the first division with the team and, due to a series of injuries with several FCS players, quickly got into the starting line-up (chain of four defenders). Her first appearance at FCS was at the 2008 DFB Cup against VfR 07 Limburg . After 1. FC Saarbrücken was relegated from the Bundesliga again, she moved to VfL Wolfsburg for the 2011/12 season , where she played with her sister for two years. After four years for VfL Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga , she moved to SC Sand with club colleague Jovana Damnjanović in the summer of 2015 .

National team

She was discovered as a player in the viewing courses of the South Baden Football Association in the South Baden Sports School in Steinbach near Baden-Baden and selected for the South Baden selection at the DFB country cup in Duisburg 2006. She then completed several courses and two appearances in test internationals against England in Buckinghamshire (on April 11, 2007 in the 71st minute as a substitute for Claudia Kalin , on April 13th continuously in the game). With the German U-15 juniors , she won the DFB four-nation tournament in Kamen-Kaiserau in 2007 . With the U-16 selection of the DFB, she won the Nordic Cup in Iceland , the unofficial European U-16 championship.

In the second qualifying round for the U-17 European Championship 2009 , which was held in Hungary , she scored one of the goals and in the final round, which took place in Nyon / Switzerland from June 22 to 25, 2009, her team finally won the European Championship against Spain. Laura Vetterlein was in the starting line-up and, as a defender, helped to keep the opponents goalless.

In October 2009 she completed her first brief appearance in an international match in the squad of the U-19 national team against Sweden. The second appearance in the U-19 came at the end of February 2010 at the ten-nation tournament of the German team in La Manga, Spain . She had her first “big” tournament with the U-19s in March 2010 in the 2nd round of the European Championship qualification in Serbia in the opening game against Poland and then against Norway. At the semi-finals of the U19 European Championship in Macedonia in 2010 , she was set up for midfield and was substituted on the 3rd match day in the 19th minute against the English, but suffered a torn knee ligament shortly before the end of the game and was therefore eliminated from the final.
