Markus Unger (born November 18, 1981 in Fulda ) is a former German soccer player and today's coach.
Career
Markus Unger began his career in the youth departments of Steinhaus and Borussia Fulda . At Borussia he made it to the first team. For the 2004/2005 season he moved to 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 , where he only stayed for half a year. During the winter break he went to SV Buchonia Flieden . In Flieden he played half the season to the end. He then moved to the Regionalliga Nord to Kickers Emden (2005/06). Then Unger made it to the Regionalliga Süd with the then top division club SSV Reutlingen 05 . In January 2008 he left the SSV and joined Sportfreunde Siegen .
For the 2008/09 season he moved back to Kickers Emden, which played in the newly founded 3rd division . After Emden withdrew voluntarily into the league at the end of the season for licensing reasons, he left the club. At the end of the 2009 transfer period, he joined KSV Hessen Kassel . For the 2010/11 season Unger moved to the third division club Eintracht Braunschweig and rose to the 2nd Bundesliga with the club . After four appearances in the second division during the 2011/12 season, Unger ended his professional career and signed a two-year contract as player and assistant coach of the second team of Eintracht. With her he rose in the 2012/13 season as master of the Lower Saxony Oberliga in the regional league. In 2014 Unger ended his active career and extended his contract as assistant to U23 trainer Henning Bürger and as a trainer at the Eintracht junior performance center until 2016.
