The SV Buchonia Flieden is a sports club from Flieden in the eastern Hessian district of Fulda .
history
The association was founded in January 1912 in the “Zum Hasen” inn in Flieden. Until the late 1970s, the club played in the lower amateur classes. The first major successes came in 1978 with promotion to the Hessian state league (North) and in 1980 with reaching the finals of the Hessen Cup . In the final, the Buchonen lost to RSV Würges with 0: 2, but were entitled to participate in the first main round in the DFB Cup . Here the team lost at home in front of 2,000 spectators against the then second division club ESV Ingolstadt with 1: 4.
1996 succeeded with the championship in the Landesliga-Nord, the first promotion to the Oberliga Hessen , from which one had to say goodbye after one year as penultimate again. Since the return to the highest Hessian league in 2001, Buchonia Flieden was initially able to establish itself in the league. In 2009, however, was relegated to the association league after the club had just failed in the relegation. In 2010 there was again the narrow but direct promotion and with it the return to the soccer Hessenliga . In the following season, SV Buchonia Flieden reached 13th place in the table and was thus able to avoid direct relegation.
The 2011/12 season ended in eleventh place in the table on a secured midfield position. The 2nd team rose surprisingly as champions of the group league Fulda in the Verbandsliga Nord. In 2013 the A-Juniors became champions of the Fulda group league and were promoted to the Hessen league via the relegation against Rot-Weiß Darmstadt. In 2016, however, the club rose from bottom of the table in the association league. In 2017 the direct ascent took place again. It was the Buchoons' first championship title since 2001. In 2019, the Fliedener descended again.
