Patrick Oskar Walter Falk (born February 8, 1980 in Frankfurt ) is a former German soccer player and currently a coach.

Career

Falk started playing football at FSV Lieblos when he was five. In order to develop further, he was drawn to Frankfurt Eintracht. There he became a youth national player. As a U15 international, talent scouts from FC Barcelona had the attacking midfielder observed. While Falk has had a passion for FC Barcelona since childhood, his father's sympathy for Eintracht Frankfurt ruined a possible move. In the last A youth year he moved to Bayer 04 Leverkusen . For the 1999/2000 season he returned to Eintracht. Under coach Jörg Berger at the time , Falk made his debut in the Bundesliga on August 14, 1999 at the age of 19 . But after a strong half series, Berger's dismissal and coach Felix Magath's engagement went downhill. “As a playmaker, I wasn't the right type for him,” said Falk. The path of the U20 World Cup participant to Kickers Offenbach in the regional soccer league led via Braunschweig and Oberhausen . After Falk was unable to assert himself decisively due to numerous injuries, the chapter of professional football was over at the age of 24. In retrospect, Patrick Falk blames false advisors, quarrels with coaches, recurring knee problems and rheumatoid arthritis for his sudden career breakdown.

After a few lower-class positions (Leipzig, Flieden), Falk was player-coach at KG Wittgenborn from 2005 to 2006 . From 2007 to 2012 Falk was only a trainer. During his seven-year tenure, Falk won three championships and six other coaching titles. For the 2012/13 season, Falk took over the Hanau upper division club SpVgg 1910 Langenselbold . Until the 2014/15 season he coached the SV Phönix 1919 Düdelsheim women's team . He did this in the first game of the season of the following season 2015/16, before he returned to KG Wittgenborn as a player- coach . There he was employed as a trainer until the 2017/18 winter break and, at the same time, trained the women of SV Phönix 1919 Düdelsheim again in the 2016/17 season . At the beginning of the 2018/19 season, Falk was the coach of the upper division club FC Germania Ortenberg , for whom he has occasionally changed as a player himself (as of March 2020).
