The TSV Ofterdingen is a sports club in Württemberg Ofterdingen with a long football tradition .
history
The association was founded in 1904. The footballers achieved their greatest success in 1982 when they became champions of the Württemberg Association League and rose to the Baden-Württemberg Oberliga . As seventeenth in the table with 21:51 points and 57:79 goals, the club was relegated from the top soccer class in Baden-Württemberg after just one season.
By making it to the final of the WFV-Pokal 1984 they qualified for participation in the DFB-Pokal 1984/85 . At home, they lost 0: 1 to the VfL Bochum amateurs . TSV Ofterdingen had already reached the first round in the DFB Cup in 1977. In front of 15,000 spectators in the stadium at the Kreuzeiche in Reutlingen, TSV lost 0: 5 (0: 1) to Hamburger SV , then European cup winners. The TSV players had the honor of playing against celebrities like Kevin Keegan , Rudi Kargus and Manni Kalz and were able to keep up well in the first half at least.
In 2008/09 the TSV played in the then eight-class district league Alb. In the 2010/11 season, TSV Ofterdingen was champions of the district league and rose to the state league, which he was only able to hold for one season. In 2017, the championship was celebrated in the district league, combined with promotion to the state league.
