The SV Böblingen (sports association) was founded on October 20, 1945 and with (as of: July 20, 2018) over 6,800 members in 25 departments is the largest club in Böblingen . The club colors are blue and white. The first soccer team plays in the seventh-class state league Württemberg. The club is also represented in the women's table tennis Bundesliga .

history

The association was founded on October 20, 1945 in the Gasthof zum Bären. Predecessor clubs were the FV Böblingen, founded in 1924, and the Vfl Böblingen , from which the SG Böblingen emerged around 1940 . The SG Böblingen reached the first main round of the Tschammerpokal in 1942 , in which they were defeated by the Stuttgarter Kickers 2: 3.

In 1955, SV Böblingen won the A-Class Stuttgart championship and was promoted to the 2nd Wuerttemberg amateur league. There they won the championship title in 1964 and rose to the 1st amateur league in Baden-Württemberg. After relegation to the A-Class Böblingen / Calw in 1975, they came back to the championship and rose again to the 2nd Amateur League Württemberg. But this time, too, the class could not be held and so you had to compete again in the A-class Böblingen / Calw. In 1978 she won the championship again there and rose to the new regional league Season III. In 1984 they became champions in the state league and rose to the Württemberg Association League . On May 8, 1990, SV Böblingen played against FC Bayern Munich and lost the game 1: 2 (1: 0). This was also the transfer game for goalkeeper Sven Scheuer . After relegation one came back to the championship title in the state league in 1991 and rose again to the Württemberg Association League. In 1992 the second team of SV Böblingen won the district cup against SC Neubulach with a 2-1. In 1993 they were in the final of the WFV Cup against TSF Ditzingen but lost 3-2. A historic club day was August 4, 1993. They played the first round in the DFB Cup and lost 5-0 to Bundesliga club MSV Duisburg in front of 4,500 spectators. In 1996 he was promoted to the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg , but in 1999 he was relegated from the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg to the Verbandsliga Württemberg and in 2006 another relegation to the Landesliga Staffel III. After the rise in 2011, SV Böblingen played again in the Württemberg Association League. After only reaching 14th place in the table in the 2015/16 season, the club was relegated to the Württemberg state league in 2016.

Table tennis

In 2015, two women's, six men's and seven boys' teams are active in the table tennis department . The first women's team plays in the table tennis Bundesliga , the first men's team in the association class south.

history

On September 1, 1951, the table tennis department was founded by Kurt Bauerheim, Uli Bögel, Alfred Hamm, Otmar Kunz, Johann Pokorny and Werner Stawski. Under the youth leader Fritz Roesler, the youth sector recorded numerous successes at state level in the 1960s. In 1965, the men's team got into the occupation Helmut Neuss, Peter Förster, Ernst Kegreiß, Hermann Dierich, Gerold Pfrommer and Siegfried Hoyler in the league , the then highest German league on. In 1971 she got down again. Frank Tartsch (* 1950) has been the department head since 1981. From 1981 to 1991 the women's team climbed from the regional league to the first division . The promotion team in 1991 consisted of Bettina Westphal, Nicole Delle , Michele Paler, Daniela Bätzner and Carmen Steiger. The outstanding player was the Chinese He Quianhong (later Qianhong Gotsch). Despite their 51: 1 record, they could not prevent relegation at the end of the 1991/92 season. In 1993 they were promoted again and subsequently a seventh place in the Bundesliga. In 1999, the team was relegated again, a year later even in the third highest division. In 2006, Qianhong Gotsch , Irene Ivancan and Mie Skov (Denmark) returned to the Bundesliga with their coaches Martin Keller and Henning Meier and came out of seventh place the following season.

With coach Volker Ziegler , the team achieved 6th place in 2007/2008, 5th place in 2008/2009 and 2009/2010, 4th place in 2010/2011, 5th place in 2011/2012, 6th place in 2012/2013 and 5th place in 2013/2014 Teams always formed the experienced trio Qianhong Gotsch, Nicole Struse and Yanhua Xu. The team was supplemented by various players, such as Mie Skov, Fulya Yildirim geb. Özler, Rosalia Stähr, Alexandra Schankula b. Urban and Anja Schuh.

The 2014/15 season saw a major upheaval. After Nicole Struse, Yanhua Xu also ended her playing career. In addition to Qianhong Gotsch, the Japanese Mitsuki Yoshida was signed as the second top player. The team is completed by the two young German national players Anja Schuh and Julia Kaim. In addition to Volker Ziegler , who has been the national coach of the disabled national team since February 1, 2013, Matthias Landfried has been hired as a trainer. The team is supported by the supervisor Ingo Gotsch.

The club organized many national and international tournaments, including several German championships.

hockey

The 1st men's team plays on the field in the Regionalliga Süd and in the hall in the 2nd Bundesliga South. The first women's team plays on the field and in the hall in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg.

The first men's basketball team, the Böblingen Panthers , plays in the Oberliga Württemberg, the women 1 play in the Regionalliga Baden-Württemberg. In addition, two other men's and one women's teams take part in the game. The basketball department also maintains several teams of female and male youth.
