Irene Ivancan (born July 22, 1983 in Stuttgart ) is a former German table tennis player of Croatian descent. She was German champion in doubles in 2001, 2004 and 2011 , vice-European champion in singles in 2011 and European champion with the team in 2014 and 2015 .

Irene Ivancan started playing table tennis at the TTC Dolinar Stuttgart at the age of seven . In 1998 she moved from FTSV Bad Ditzenbach-Gosbach to TV Busenbach through various positions , for which she competed in the Bundesliga for the first time . After assignments for TuS Bad Driburg (2002-2004) and TTC HS Schwarza (2004/2005), she played for SV Böblingen since 2005 . In 2005 she took part in both the European Championship and the World Championship. For the 2008/09 season she moved to MTV Tostedt , 2011 to Ttc berlin eastside . In 2014 she went to Turkey to Fenerbahçe SK , with whose women's team she won the Champions League in 2015 and became Turkish champion in 2016. In 2018 she returns to the German Bundesliga for second division MTV Tostedt.

At the end of 2010 she achieved a top 100 position in the world rankings for the first time . At the 2011 European Championships she won the silver medal and celebrated her greatest international success to date. In the final she lost just 3: 4 to Li Jiao from the Netherlands. In 2012 she was part of the German team at the Olympic Games . After good performances at the Kuwait and German Open 2014, she reached a personal best in May with 34th place in the world rankings. At the 2014 European Championship , she won the title with the German team. After two clear 3-0 successes in the quarter and semi-finals, however, it was not used in the final. In February 2015 she was third in the European ranking tournament Europe TOP-16 , which is the first time she qualified for the World Cup . From 2014 she also formed a double with Han Ying , with whom she achieved several medal placements on the World Tour and won bronze at the European Championships in 2015 in Yekaterinburg - in addition to the second gold medal with the team.

In 2017 Irene Ivancan ended her career in the national team.
