Katrin Meyerhöfer

Katrin Meyerhöfer (born July 8, 1979 in Korbach ) is a former German table tennis player . She is German champion in doubles.

youth

She started her career at BG Korbach when she was nine years old before moving to TFC Wolfhagen in 1991. She initially played attack, but switched to defense on the advice of Swedish coach Ola Einarsson. In 1992 she was nominated for the European Schools Championship in Topolancy. In 1994 she was first with the German team at the European Schools Championship. In the same year she took second place in doubles at the German school championships with Andrea Bargel, and she won the mixed title with Timo Boll . In 1995 she won the national ranking tournament DTTB-TOP12 of the youth. At the German Junior Championship in 1998 she was second. Her talent was promoted by visiting the German Table Tennis Center DTTZ in Heidelberg, where she was looked after by professional trainers such as Horst Heckwolf , Bernd Raue and Eva Jeler .

Adults

In 1994 Meyerhöfer moved to TTC Kassel , and in 1997 she joined FC Langweid . With his women's team she was German champion in 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2003.

At the National German Championships she won the semi-finals in mixed with Thomas Schröder in 2000 . With Irene Ivancan , she became German doubles champion in 2001 and third a year later.

In 1999 she took part in the World Cup. In individual, she first had to compete in the qualifying round, where she advanced through victories over Catherine Ann Davies (Wales) and Michelle DO (USA). In the main round it was the final destination against Kim Moo-kyo (Korea). In doubles with Jing Tian-Zörner , she won against Dusanka Matovic / Rumenka Krasteva (Macedonia) and then lost against Park Hae-jung / Kim Moo-kyo (Korea). In mixed she competed with the Finn Mika Räsänen. After a win over Ganeshan Veerasamy Descann / Devina Dookhee (Mauritius) they were eliminated by Allan Bentsen / Pernilla Pettersson (Denmark / Sweden).

At the 2001 World Cup , she reached ninth place with the German women's team. In the individual, she was eliminated in the first round against Eva Ódorová (Slovakia). The doubles with Jie Schöpp also lost in the first round against Wong Ching / Lau Sui Fei (Hong Kong).

In 2001 she won the national ranking tournament DTTB-TOP-16 .

From 2004 to 2009 Meyerhöfer worked as a player coach at TuS Glane , after which she returned to Langweid.

Private

Meyerhöfer was a member of the Bundeswehr sports promotion group and is a professional soldier.
