The 57th Table Tennis World Championship 2012 for teams took place from March 25th to April 1st, 2012 in the North Rhine-Westphalian city of Dortmund in Germany .
Award
Dortmund was awarded the contract in April 2009 by the participants in the Annual General Meeting of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF). Dortmund was the host of the table tennis world championship for the third time after 1959 and 1989 .
venue
The title fights were held in the Westfalenhallen . The winners of the finals and thus world champions were the teams of the People's Republic of China both in the women (3: 0 against Singapore) and in the men (3: 0 against hosts Germany).
Competition mode
It was played in the same mode as in the previous team world championships ( detailed description at the 2008 World Cup ). The top division is now called the Championship Division .
