TTC HS Schwarza

The TTC HS Schwarza is a table tennis club from Schwarza (Thuringian Forest) . He became known nationwide through his women's team, which played in the first division for several years . It was the first club from the new federal states to compete in the women's Bundesliga.

Club history

The club was founded in 1991 as a division of a working group in the context of school sports. In 1998, the women's team of TTV Suhl joined the club, which resulted in eligibility to play in the major league. The independent club TTC HS Schwarza was founded in 2001. In the same year, the women's team was promoted to the regional league.

In 2003 she was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga South. Here she became an instant master in the line-up of Jing Tian-Zörner , Ching Wong, Åsa Svensson , Nicole Delle , Suwen Evers-Fan, Jolanta Prūsienė , Mok Ka Sha , Marlen Hebold, Monika Albert, Katrin Etzrodt, Juliane Neise and marched in the 1st Bundesliga through. Although the team was reinforced by the newcomers Wang Chen (USA), Man Yuan (China), Irene Ivancan (Germany) and Katalina Gatinska (Bulgaria), the club had to join the team at the end of the 2004/05 season for financial reasons Withdraw Oberliga.

The first men's team played around 2005 in the Thuringia League.
