Jolanta Prūsienė

Jolanta Prūsienė , b. Danilevičiūtė , (born November 30, 1965 in Kaunas ) is a Lithuanian table tennis player . She took part in eleven world championships and in 2000 in the Olympic Games .

Jolanta Prūsienė performed under the flag of the USSR until 1990, after which she played for Lithuania.

Career

Jolanta Danilevičiūtė started playing table tennis at the age of six. She achieved her first international success under her birth name at European Youth Championships. Here she won the singles title in 1979, 1980 and 1982, in 1981 and 1982 she won doubles with Elena Vecherok, and from 1979 to 1983 she won gold with the team five times in a row.

From 1981 to 2006 Jolanta Prūsienė took part in eleven world championships , but never came close to medal ranks. At European Championships she reached the semi-finals three times in doubles, in 1994 , 1996 and 2002 each with Rūta Paškauskienė .

In 2000, she qualified for participation in the double competition at the Olympic Games . With her standard partner Rūta Paškauskienė, she won the group games against Jian-Fang Lay / Stella Zhou (Australia) and Kazuko Naito / Rinko Sakata (Japan), then lost in the first round to the winners of the silver medal Sun Jin / Yang Ying from China.

In the 2003/04 season Jolanta Prūsienė played with the TTC HS Schwarza in the 2nd Bundesliga South. With a positive 5-0 record in the second pair cross, she was significantly involved in the promotion to the 1st Bundesliga.
