Nicole Delle

Nicole Delle (born May 20, 1977 in Biberach an der Riss ) is a former German table tennis player . She is the German youth champion and took part in the 1992 European championship for adults.

Career

At the age of six, Nicole Delle began playing table tennis under the guidance of her father. Soon she joined the club TSV Otterswang, in 1990 she moved to SV Böblingen , with whose women's team she was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga at the end of the 1990/91 season and again in 1992/93 . In Heidelberg she continued to develop in the German Table Tennis Center.

Numerous successes were achieved in the school and youth sector. Although still active in the girls' class, she took part in the German youth championship in 1991 and won the individual here. She was twice German youth champion in doubles, in 1992 with Sandra Stroezel and in 1994 with Heike Hildebrandt. Further national successes in adolescence:

  • 1991 German School Championship: Third place in singles, final in doubles with Judith Buhle
  • 1992 DTTB Top-12: Second place (behind Sandra Stroezel)
  • 1993 DTTB Top-12: First place
  • 1994 DTTB Top-12: Second place (behind Nadine Schmidt)
  • 1995 Juniors: First place in mixed with Gerd Richter
  • 1996 Juniors: second place in singles (behind Cornelia Böttcher ), first place in mixed with Gerd Richter
  • 1997 Juniors: 1st place in singles, doubles (with Tanja Riß) and mixed (with Daniel Horlacher)
  • 1998 Juniors: second place in doubles (with Tanja Riß), second place in mixed (with Lars Hielscher )

In 1993 she was in Ljubljana together with Sascha Köstner Junior European Champion in mixed.

In 1992 she was allowed to take part in the individual competitions at the European Adult Championship in Stuttgart in order to gain international experience. At the age of 14 she was the youngest German player to take part in a European Championship. In the individual, she failed in the qualifying round against the defender Johanna Kaimio from Finland. The doubles with the Austrian Tu Dai Yong from China prevailed against Marianne Blikken / Sonja Rasmussen (Norway) in the qualifying round and then lost to Olga Nemes / Cornelia Faltermaier in the main round . In mixed with Sascha Köstner, she could not avoid a defeat against the experienced Czech couple Petr Korbel / Marie Hrachová .

In 1997 Nicole Delle left SV Böblingen for TuS Glane . Due to a sports injury in 1999 and the desire to study, she gave up high-performance sport in 2000 and moved back to her home club ASV Otterswang, with which she played in the second division. In 2003/2004 she played for the TTC HS Schwarza and was there with the women's team, champion of the 2nd Bundesliga, since 2004 with BSC Rapid Chemnitz in the Regionalliga and today (2012) again in the Second Bundesliga.

Private

Nicole Delle works as a social worker. She has a son.
