Russell G. Method (born June 27, 1897 in Duluth , Minnesota , USA , † October 17, 1971 in Two Harbors , Minnesota) was an American football player . He played for the Duluth Kelleys / Eskimos and the Chicago Cardinals in the National Football League (NFL).
Player career
Russ Method attended high school in Duluth and took part in the First World War as a soldier . In 1923 he signed a professional contract with the Duluth Kelleys, who were trained by Joey Sternaman . In 1926, the later members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame John McNally , Ernie Nevers and Walt Kiesling joined the team from Duluth, which was renamed Duluth Eskimos later that year. However, this did not change the team's unsuccessfulness. Method and his team won only 16 out of 39 games. After another game year, the Eskimos had to stop playing. For the 1929 season, Method joined the Chicago Cardinals to end his career after one season. Russ Method was an exceptionally tough and tough player. During his career, he broke his nose a total of 14 times.
After the playing career
Method worked in the steel industry after his playing career until 1962 and then retired. He lived in Chicago until his death and died on a vacation trip.
